Dental implants

There are many reasons why a person loses a tooth or teeth. Some could be a result of injury or accidents and this will require an operation or dental restoration to cover up the gap. Dental implant is one of the best solutions out there and this process usually takes 3-5 months to complete.
Dental implant can be made of titanium because it can resemble a tooth in terms of appearance. Long times ago, the types of implants were blade endosseous and subperiosteal implants. The former takes the shape of metal piece installed within the bone resembling a flat blade while the latter has a framework created as base and connected using screws to the visible bones of the jaw.
Dental implants are also widely used to support other dental prostheses such as crowns, bridges and dentures. The latest technology adapts the use of root-form endosseous implants. It means that this implant has a root form and usually placed within the bone. For a much faster process, some prefer immediate placement of artificial teeth. However, the drawback is that the healing process does not lie in the hands of the dentist anymore.
